Malo le soifua ma le lagi mama. My name is Ma’ilata Henry Ma’alo. My father’s name is Tauili’ili Ma’alo he comes from Pulaia Savai’i and mv mother’s name is Roina Ma’alo she comes from Faleula Upolu, Samoa. I was born and raised in Aotearoa.

I am the current Programme Manager for Te Pūkenga School of Construction and Engineering, and part of the Te Pükenga Advisory Academic and Achievement Committee. My portfolio consists of L3 Carpentry, Allied Trades, Trades Academy, L2 Construction & Infrastructure foundation programmes. Before this position I taught on the Pacific Trades Training Scholarship programme for Carpentry Level 3 learners.

My background has been in the Carpentry/Construction sector as a builder (18yrs), where I completed my apprenticeship through BCITO. I also had the privilege of being a part of the team, who were part of the rebuild in Samoa: after the tsunami. I am passionate about creating opportunities to uplift our Pasifika communities in education and employment.
